Sports Integral Part Of Youth Development – Okowa
Delta Governor and Vice-Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Sen. Dr Ifeanyi Okowa says his administration would continue to pay special attention to sports as it remains an integral part of youth development.
Okowa disclosed this in his remarks on Tuesday during a novelty match organized by the Ministry of Youth Development, held at St. Patrick’s College, Asaba.
The energy-filled match which held between State Appointees on Youth Development and members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Delta State Chapter was organized to celebrate the 2022 International Youth Week Celebration.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Chief Patrick Ukah, who chaired the event, commended the Ministry of Youth Development for organizing the novelty match, adding that was a great avenue for youths to unite.
Commissioner for Youth Development, Comrade Ifeanyi Egwunyenga, while presenting awards to the players commended them for their sportsmanship.
The novelty match was graced by Commissioner for Economic Planning, Dr. Barry Pere-Gbe, Commissioner for Technical Education, Princess Shola Ogbemi-Daibo and Commissioner for Project Monitoring and Audit, Olorogun Anthony Ofoni.
Others are Mrs Nkechi Chukwurah, Commissioner Girl Child Entrepreneurship, Darlington Ikechukwu, Commissioner for Human and Community Development, Oshimili South Local Government Chairman, Hon Kelvin Obi Ezenyili, representative of NYSC Delta State and a host of other dignitaries.
